Know what to expect
ELECTRICAL REQUIREMENTS
Consult an electrician concerning the voltage, amps, and wattage requirements. The heat cable will use 12 watts per square foot of heat.
Make sure there is space in the electrical panel.
The heat cable kits can be ordered as 120V or 240V. However, the Mysa thermostat can be used for either voltage. Only 150 square feet can be used for a 120V system and 300 square feet for a 240V system.
The thermostat is GFCI protected. Do not install to a GFCI breaker.
FLOORING REQUIREMENTS
HeatBoard kits can only be used with tile 6"x6" or larger [porcelain, ceramic, or natural stone such as marble, slate, granite, and travertine]. DO NOT USE WITH HARDWOOD, VINYL, LAMINATE, OR CARPET.
The subfloor must be 5/8 exterior grade plywood or 23/32 OSB with Exposure 1 classification or better, complying with local building codes and ANSI A108.11.
